West Seattle Guest Bathroom Remodel with Modern, Accessible Design

Designed for a retired couple planning to age in place, this West Seattle guest bathroom blends accessibility, comfort, and distinctive modern style. The goal was to create a bathroom that would feel welcoming to guests while providing features that support safer, more comfortable use for people with different mobility needs.

The walk-in shower features a seamless entry, strategically placed grab bars,  a fold-down wood shower seat, and a built-in niche that keeps toiletries within easy reach.

Frameless glass keeps the room feeling open and puts the blue geometric shower tile front and center.

Rather than stopping the tile at the shower, it continues behind the toilet and carries over to the vanity as a backsplash. That detail helps tie the whole room together, while the warm wood vanity and light countertop balance the cooler blue tones.

By integrating accessibility features into the overall design rather than treating them as an afterthought, the finished bathroom feels polished and inviting while supporting the homeowners’ long-term living plans.
